Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release
PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Riverhounds (4-14-4) look to avoid the season series sweep against the Rochester Rhinos (9-5-9) in the final of three head-to-head meetings between the two clubs this regular season.
The Pittsburgh Riverhounds began play in 1999 as a member of the United Soccer Leagues. The team has competed in USL since its inception in 2011. Highmark Stadium, a privately financed 3,500-seat soccer facility overlooking Pittsburgh's downtown skyline, has served as the Riverhounds' home since 2013.
The club's Academy currently fields 15 youth teams for boys and girls from Under-9/10 level through to U-18. About 600 young players outside of the Academy structure are coached by the Riverhounds via separate training programs available to all players in the Western Pennsylvania area.
