
RiverHawks Return Home Tuesday

LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks begin a six-game homestand at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday when they host the Southern Illinois Miners. The RiverHawks play a three-game series against Southern Illinois and then another three games against the Normal CornBelters.
Tuesday is a Kids Eat Free and Dog Days of Summer Night, sponsored by Thompsons' Transmission and Petco. On each Kids Eat Free Night, children 12 and under receive a hot dog, bag of chips and cookie free of charge, courtesy of Thompsons' Transmission. Fans can also bring their dogs to the ballpark, thanks to Petco.
Wednesday is the fourth RiverHawks Idol night and the second Faith Night. Come out to the ballpark and help the RiverHawks search the Rock River Valley for the next singing superstar. Churches can also get individual or group tickets free of charge, courtesy of a local businessman who has bought out the entire stadium.
Wednesday is also a Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet Youth Clinic Night. Kids are invited to take the field before the game at 5 p.m. with RiverHawks players, courtesy of Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet.
Thursday is $1 beer and soda night, sponsored by RBI's Bar and Grill and Miller Lite. Fans 21 and over can enjoy an ice cold beer for just $1, while everyone can purchase soda for the same low price. Sixteen ounce bottles of beer are also available for $2.
First pitch for the first three games of the homestand is set for 7:05 p.m. Gates open at 6:05 p.m.
Gates open at 2:30 p.m. on Friday for the 10th annual Doctors vs. Lawyers charity baseball game, sponsored by Blackhawk Bank. The game begins promptly at 3 p.m.
Then at 7:05 p.m., the RiverHawks begin their series against Normal with the Power Connection Baseball Card Set Giveaway. The first 1,000 fans in attendance receive a 2011 RiverHawks baseball card set, courtesy of Power Connection.
Saturday is Youth Baseball Glove Giveaway Night, sponsored by OSF St. Anthony Healthcare. The first 1,000 kids through the gates get a RiverHawks glove, courtesy of OSF St. Anthony Healthcare. Game time is 6:05 p.m. and gates open at 5:05 p.m.
Saturday is also Bike Night. Fans with motorcycles park for free and can ride around the warning track before the game. There will be a Best Bike contest voted on by fans.
The six-game homestand concludes Sunday at 4:05 p.m. with Family Fun Day. Children 12 and under can get tickets in any section for just $2. Kids can also run the bases after the game and ride the train for free, courtesy of the Illinois Railway Museum, Midwest Railway Junction and Bounce O'Rama. Players will also be available for autographs on the concourse after the game.
