Quad City Riverhawks News Release

Davenport - The Quad City Riverhawks (8-3) ABA Professional basketball team continued their hot 3 point shooting led by newcomer Tony Weeden who was 8 for 10 from 3 point land and led the team with a game high 27 points.

The first quarter ended with a 27-24 Riverhawks lead. The Riverhawks extended the lead to 29 at the half by making 8 of 10 three point attempts. The Twin City Ballers kept it somewhat close by hitting 12 of 14 free throws. Ryan Edwards and Anthony Davis led the Riverhawks attack at the half with 12 points each.

The game continued at a 20 point difference for most of the 2nd half thanks to stellar rebounding, off the bench, from 6'9" Drake graduate, David Bancroft. Bancroft saw extensive minutes in the 2nd half and made the most of the playing time by hauling in a team leading 8 rebounds and picking 5 personal fouls for the game. The Ballers were led by Corey Childs who chipped in 26 points in a losing effort. Edwards ended the evening with a solid 20 points shooting 7 of 13 from the field and adding 6 rebounds and 6 assists. St. Ambrose grad Murphy Carter chipped in 6 assists in the second half.
