Riverhawks Add More Fire Power
November 15, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Quad City Riverhawks News Release
Davenport - Head Coach Jim Condill and VP of Basketball Operations Acie Earl were not completely satisfied with the Quad City Riverhawks (1-1) 9 point victory earlier this week so they went out and added some more power to the already potent Riverhawks lineup.
They announced the signing of 6'7" forward Ryan Edwards who attended Missouri Baptist College. Edwards was the 1st round pick of the Rockford Lightning of the CBA in the 2005 draft, averaged 27 pts a game in the IBL and was voted one of the "Top Ten" minor league basketball players in the United States in the spring of 2006. Edwards is expected in the line-up for Friday nights contest against the 2-1 St. Louis Stunners. The Riverhawks waived forward Aaron Perry to make room for Edwards.
The next games for the Riverhawks are Friday, November 17 vs. the St. Louis Stunners and Saturday, November 18 vs. the Minnesota Ripknees (2-1) at Marycrest College Activity Center starting at 7:05 pm, doors open at 6:00pm. Tickets are available by logging onto www.etix.com, visiting the Riverhawks office at the NW Bank Tower in Bettendorf or are available at Marycrest prior to the game.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
