
ABA Salutes Fairfield Ludlowe High School Lacrosse Club

Indianapolis, IN. The ABA Salutes The Fairfield Ludlowe High School Lacrosse Club and the local lacrosse community in Fairfield, Connecticut that will host the First Annual Thanksgiving Charity Invitational Tournament on Saturday, November 25th at the Ludlowe High School Taft Field. This year's tournament will be called "Sticks for Soldiers" and will benefit injured soldiers through the Strikeouts for Troops organization founded by Oakland A's pitcher Barry Zito.
Teams from area high schools will participate in a 7-on-7 tournament game format, and team entry fees, concession proceeds, raffles and other fund-raising events will be donated to this year's cause. The tournament will start at 10:00 am, and each team should play at least 3 games.
As noted by Chris Parisi, Ludlowe High School program Head Coach, and Mike Voucas, Event Chairman, "The event should guarantee players and fans an action-packed day of high level lacrosse. Our vision of this Thanksgiving Charity Invitational Tournament is to build every year in the tradition of the Boston "Beanpot" hockey event, and drive strong spectator turnout for exceptionally worthy causes." Committed teams include participants from Connecticut State Champion Fairfield Prep, Class "S" State Finalist Fairfield Ludlowe, and several top-level FCIAC and SWC programs.
In addition to team entry fees and other event-day fund raising, organizations and individuals are encouraged to participate in the "Sticks for Soldiers" charity event. Donations may be sent to Mike Voucas, c/o Fairfield Ludlowe High School, "Sticks for Soldiers," 162 Butternut Lane, Southport CT 06890.
