
RiverDogs win 4-2, Oliveira wins league award

RICHMOND, VA - The Richmond RiverDogs shot out to a 3-0 lead and held on to defeat the Roanoke Valley Vipers by the score of 4-2 in front of a crowd of 2,314 at the Richmond Coliseum. The RiverDogs got goals from Warren Cooper, Bobby Kukulka, Mike Oliveira, who was named Sher-wood UHL Player of the Month for January, and an empty net goal from John DiPace. Both Oliveira and DiPace continued point-scoring streaks with their goals tonight. DiPace has points in 8 straight games (4 goals, 8 assists for 12 points) while Oliveira continues the league's longest current streak at 12 (11 goals, 9 assists for 20 points). Oliveira has also hit the twine in 8 straight games with 9. Mike D'Alessandro got the win in net as he stopped 25 of 27 shots.
With the victory, the RiverDogs push their record to 19-21-4 for 42 points, 3rd place in the Eastern Division. The Dogs will conclude the six game homestand with games against the Danbury Trashers, Friday and Saturday, February 3rd and 4th, with both games beginning at 7:35 pm. Saturday's game will be Richmond Times-Dispatch Family 4 Pack Night.
