TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The sixth of 17 meetings and the third of eight in Richmond. ‘Dogs are 2-3 vs. the Trashers, 1-1 at home. David Hymovitz and Francis Belanger each have five points vs. Danbury. Blake Bellefeuille has five vs. the ‘Dogs. The Trashers are out-shooting the ‘Dogs by over 13 per game. The ‘Dogs are fourth in the East, two points behind Elmira. The ‘Dogs still have at least two games in hand on the rest of the division. Danbury leads the East by three points over Adirondack.

LAST ACTION: Richmond beat Kalamazoo 5-2 here Sunday. The ‘Dogs erupted for a three goal third period. Richmond rallied from deficits of 1-0 and 2-1. Again the ‘Dogs took only 18 shots, but Francis Belanger scored a pair of power play goals. Ryan McIntosh made 29 saves. Danbury edged Port Huron 2-1 in a shootout Sunday. Doug Christiansen had Danbury's regulation goal.

'DOG BITES: The RiverDogs are 3-0 when held to under 20 shots on goal. The 'Dogs were held to a season low 18 shots Saturday and Sunday but won both games. Richmond beat Kalamazoo for the first time ever Sunday (the 'Dogs were 0-5 vs. the Wings last season). Kyle Sheen has points in six straight games. Sheen's streak is the second longest current streak in the UHL. Mark Turner has points in four straight games. Richmond is 3 for their last 7 on the power play. The 'Dogs are 15 of their last 16 on the penalty kill. Richmond has held opponents to two or fewer goals in their last six wins and has allowed 35 goals in their last five losses. The 'Dogs have been out-shot in three straight games and nine of their last 10. The 'Dogs snapped a three game road loosing streak Saturday. The 'Dogs are 3-0-1 vs. the Central Division. Following Wednesday's game vs. Danbury the ‘Dogs play seven straight on the road. Ryan McIntosh had a save percentage of .945 in three games last week. David Hymovitz is tied for 10th in the league in scoring. Trevor Senn is fourth in penalty minutes. Kyle Sheen is tied for third among UHL rookies in penalty minutes. Dan Rohanna is expected back in the ‘Dogs lineup tonight.

NEXT UP: Richmond visits Adirondack Friday at 7:05 (6:50, 990 WLEE and internet only) to open a seven game road trip. The ‘Dogs return home December 23 vs. Elmira at 7:05.
