Arkansas RiverBlades News Release

The Arkansas RiverBlades outshot the Pensacola Ice Pilots 48-18, but it was not enough, as the Blades dropped their third straight 4-3 Thursday night at The Hangar.

Goaltender Maxime Gingras made 45 saves to lead the way for Pensacola. Terry Marchant tallied a goal and an assist for the Blades, who also got goals from Garry Toor and Jason Bermingham.

Kerry Ellis-Toddington opened up the scoring at 1:57 of the first, notching his 4th of the year from Dumont and Greg Pankewicz.

Then, at 11:04, Trevor Allman got his 14th of the year from Chris Minard and Kerry Ellis-Toddington.

Mike Jones then added his first goal of the year on the power-play at 17:13, set up by Louis Dumont and Kevin Cloutier.

Garry Toor then lit the lamp for the only goal of the second period, with his 5th of the year on the power-play at 2:05. Damon Whitten and Terry Marchant assisted on the play.

In the third, Terry Marchant made it a one-goal game at 3:40, taking a pass from Ernie Hartlieb and scoring his 5th short-handed goal of the year and 16th overall to cut the Pilots' lead to 3-2.

However, at 15:32, Kevin Cloutier scored the clincher, getting his 11th from Greg Pankewicz and Mike Jones.

Jason Bermingham added his 28th of the season with just 20 seconds remaining, but the Blades could not get the equalizer and Pensacola held on for the win.

Each team was 1-for-7 on the power-play, and Arkansas outshot Pensacola 37-7 in the final two periods.

The same two teams meet tomorrow night at The Hangar. Faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m.
