River Sharks Add Four Ahead of Playoff Push

The Elmira River Sharks of the FPHL have had a busy last week as they have continued to tinker with a lineup they hope will lead them to playoff success. Having won 5 of their last 6 and going into another three in three weekend against the teams both above and below them in the standings Elmira has a chance to set themselves up for a push up the standings in the last 18 games of the regular season. Coach Tyler Gjurich wasted no time adding in Forward Trevor Neumann, Goaltender Frankie McClendon, Forward Dominic Dumas and Forward Dustin Jesseau.

Neumann, a 24-year-old forward from Burlington, ONT, comes to the River Sharks having played out his final year at Morrisville College where in 25 games Trevor had 9 points (4 goals and 5 assists) in his senior season. Prior to attendeing Morrisville Neumann played in Thorold with the Blackhawks of the GOJHL where he tallied 116 points in 144 games including 54 goals and 62 assists.

McClendon, a 30-year-old goaltender from Oakland, CA, brings veteran playoff experience to a young Elmira locker room. Frankie has two Commissioner's Cup championships to his credit one last season with the Hat Tricks and the other with the Carolina Thunderbirds in 2018-19. McClendon spent the majority of his time in Carolina again this season with a 6-1-0 record a 2.94 goals against and .923 save percentage.

Dumas, a 24-year-old forward from Boise, ID, was acquired via trade with the Blue Ridge Bobcats after being released by Carolina. In Dominic's time with the Thunderbirds he played 32 games with a goal and 14 assists ending his time in Carolina a +3. Before heading to Carolina Dumas played at UMass-Dartmouth with 14 points in 42 games.

Jesseau, a 31-year-old forward from Scarborough, ONT, brings experience to the roster. Over the last two seasons Dustin played 56 games for the Danbury Hat Tricks scoring 88 points including 46 goals and 42 aissts while also adding 244 penalty minutes. Jesseau comes to Elmira having played 131 games in the FPHL averaging 1.31 points per game with 171 total points and 402 penalty minutes.

"We have a lot of young talent in our roster and we got the opportunitity to add experience from guys who have been around on winning teams for years. Frankie (McClendon) has not only won he celebrated a championship in this building. Dustin is a game changer and has always been a top player in this league. He also brings a toughness and edge with him. He will complement this group very well. Dominic comes from a winning team where he was a skilled playmaker and a big body while we look forward to seeing what Trevor can bring to the team. " Coach Tyler Gjurich said about his new acquisitions.
