River Rats Reassign Reid To Florida

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that defenseman Elgin Reid has been reassigned to the Florida Everblades of the East Coast Hockey League.

Reid, 21, played in two games with Albany during his first career AHL call-up, and scored his first AHL point with an assist on Saturday night in the River Rats' 5-2 win over Syracuse. The Milton, Ontario native signed a two-way, AHL-ECHL contract this summer and has eight points (3-5-8) in 19 games this season with the Florida Everblades. Reid (6'0", 180 lbs.) scored 34 points (13-21) with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers as a rookie last year, and totaled 110 points during a five-year Junior career, split between the Ottawa 67's, the Owen Sound Attack, and the Windsor Spitfires.

Albany plays a home-and-home series next weekend against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, beginning on Saturday, December 26th at 7:00 p.m. in Pennsylvania. The teams then head to the Times Union Center for a 5:00 p.m. faceoff on Sunday, December 27th.
