The United Hockey League (UHL) announced today that Missouri River Otters third-year center Dustin Whitecotton has been named to the 2002-2003 UHL Postseason All-Star First Team this year. It is the second consecutive year he has received this honor.

Whitecotton – a 23-year-old native of Cherryville, British Columbia – notched 89 points (35g, 64a) in 66 regular season games. He led the River Otters in goals, power play goals (14), assists, points and multi-point games (25) for second straight season.

His 89 points tied him with Flint's Jim Duhart for seventh in the UHL in scoring. He was tied for fifth in the League in power play goals.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound center spent nine games in the American Hockey League (AHL) this season. He played two games in early December with the Grand Rapids Griffins and then played seven with the Lowell Lock Monsters. Whitecotton notched three points (2g, 1a) and was a +3 with Lowell.

Whitecotton was traded to Lowell in mid-March along with Muskegon's Rustyn Dolyny for former River Otters defenseman Jeremiah McCarthy. Whitecotton joins Adirondack left winger Hugo Belanger, Muskegon right winger Robin Bouchard, Fort Wayne defenseman Kelly Perrault, Quad City defenseman Tom Menicci and goaltender Tom Lawson on the First Team.
