The 23-year-old native of Sterling Heights, Mich., earned his degree in Criminal Justice from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Lawrence tied with teammate Mike Possin for third place among UHL rookies with 43 points. His 29 assists and 186 shots on goal ranked second among the league's first-year players. Lawrence participated in Chicago Wolves (AHL) training camp before joining the Mallards last fall. He had a six-game point streak with a +8 plus/minus rating Oct. 19-30. He led Quad City with seven assists in November. Among his season highlights, he scored the tying goal with 9:50 left in the third period and scored the only shootout goal in a 3-2 win over Flint on Mar. 15.
