Portland Beavers News Release

PORTLAND, Ore. - What started out as a pitcher's duel between Aaron Harang and Brian Tollberg, ended up a 6-0 Sacramento win after Tagg Bozied made an error in the seventh and Graham Koonce hit a two run shot in the eighth to break things open for the River Cats in front of 3,431 Thursday at PGE Park.

After a brief rain delay before the seventh, J.J. Trujillo took over for Portland starter Brian Tollberg (0-1), who gave up only two hits while striking out six in six innings.

With Sacramento up 1-0, Trujillo walked the first two batters before Mike Edwards singled to load the bases. Adam Mulhuse, who hit a solo shot earlier in the third, hit a hard grounder down the first base line, which Bozied bobbled out of bounds. Two runs scored to put Sacramento up 3-0.

Later in the eighth, Graham Konnce's two-out, three-run shot made it a 6-0 ballgame.

Sacramento starter Aaron Harang (7-1) went six innings, giving up five hits while striking out three.

Notes...Portland closer Courtney Duncan was named the Rolaids Relief Man for April in the Pacific Coast League. He compiled 10 saves and a 1-0 record during that month.
