River Cats Capitalize on Storm Chaser Errors, Win 9-4

West Sacramento, Calif. - Six errors and three wild pitches from Omaha helped the River Cats clinch a series victory with a 9-4 win on Thursday night at Raley Field.

The Cats got out to an early 2-0 lead in a first inning that included three Omaha errors. Five different Storm Chasers recorded an error, led by second baseman Anthony Seratelli, who had two. Sacramento would go on to score nine runs in total, five of which were earned, defeating Omaha 9-4.

All but one River Cat had a hit, highlighted by two-hit performances from Jeff Fiorentino and Brandon Moss. Fiorentino finished 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI while Moss went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a walk. Josh Donaldson went 1-for-5 and is now hitting .465 in 12 games with Sacramento.

River Cats starter Brad Peacock (4-1) finished with four earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts in six innings pitched for the win. Sacramento's bullpen combined to allow two hits and two walks in three shutout innings with four strikeouts.

Omaha left-handed pitcher Mike Montgomery (2-0) gave up four runs, none of which were earned, in five innings pitched with four strikeouts. The Storm Chaser bullpen gave up five earned runs in three innings with former River Cat Ethan Hollingsworth (2-2) suffering the loss.

The River Cats will try for their first series sweep of the season on Toyota Family Value Friday at Raley Field. Lefty Fabio Castro (1-3, 6.23) will face Storm Chaser left-handed starter Will Smith (0-2, 4.31 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
