Memphis Redbirds News Release

MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis dropped the series finale to Reno 7-6 Friday night at AutoZone Park in front of 11,841 fans as the Aces swept the Redbirds in their four-game series.

The Aces jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the first before the Redbirds tacked one on in the bottom of the frame. Reno extended their lead to 4-1 with an RBI-single by Adam Eaton in the second. Matt Adams' homer in the third closed the gap to two runs, while the 'Birds rallied for four runs in the fifth, including a two run dinger by Mark Hamilton and a solo shot by Pete Kozma, to take their first and only lead of the game.

Redbirds reliever Barret Browning got caught in a bases loaded jam in the sixth inning, facing four batters while walking one run in for the loss. Maikel Cleto took over for Browning, allowing two inherited runners to score as the Aces regained the lead at 7-6 where they would remain the rest of the game. Mike DeMark notched the win for Reno with a perfect sixth inning and Jonathan Albaladejo nailed down his sixth save, blanking the 'Birds through the ninth.

The 'Birds welcome Colorado Springs to Memphis tomorrow night with game time scheduled for 6:05 p.m. and fireworks to follow the game sponsored by Baptist Memorial Health Care. The Redbirds turn to Brandon Dickson tomorrow to face Sky Sox right-hander Tyler Chatwood. For ticket information call 901.721.6000 or visit memphisredbirds.com.
