River Cats and KTKZ to Air Every 2006 River Cats Game Live

West Sacramento, Calif. -- For the first time in five (5) seasons, the 2006 Sacramento River Cats English radio broadcast will be without ANY tape delays throughout the entire season, River Cats and KTKZ 1380 AM officials announced today. The River Cats and KTKZ are entering their second season as broadcast partners.

"We are extremely pleased to offer our fans 100% live baseball action in 2006," said Alan Ledford, president, general manager and COO of the River Cats. "Live radio broadcasts are part of the history of baseball at every level and we thank our broadcast partner, KTKZ, for recognizing this and making it happen."

"KTKZ AM/FM is proud of the affiliation we have with the Sacramento River Cats, Sacramento's home town baseball team," said KTKZ General Manager Tom Holiday. "Fans can count on KTKZ 1380 AM for exciting LIVE play-by-play of every pitch of every game for the entire River Cats season."

The River Cats open their 2006 schedule on Thursday night against the Portland Beavers at PGE Park in Portland. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM with Voice of the River Cats Johnny Doskow going on the air at 7:00 P.M.

Eighty-four (84) of the team's 2006 regular season games (every home game and select road games) will also be broadcast without delay in Spanish on La Favorita, 106.1 FM by Jose Reynoso.

The team returns home on Friday, April 14th to face off against the Las Vegas 51s. Game time for the home opener is 7:05 P.M. (Broadcast begins at 7:00 P.M., gates open at 5:30 P.M.) and limited seats still remain.
