Edmonton Oil Kings News Release

Edmonton, AB - It's official! The Edmonton Oil Kings are the first team in the WHL's Eastern Conference to clinch a playoff spot thanks to a combination of an Edmonton victory over Calgary and a Red Deer loss to Prince Albert Friday night. The Oil Kings have been ranked for the past ten weeks in the CHL Top Ten and remain in first place in the WHL Eastern Conference.

The Oil Kings will begin the road to the WHL Championship (the Ed Chynoweth Cup) later this month and home games one and two confirmed for Friday, March 23, 2012 (7 p.m.) and Sunday March 25, 2012 (5 p.m.). Ticket prices in the first round of the playoffs will remain the same as the regular season with group seats available for $15, end seats are $17, side seats are $20 and club seating will be available for $30. Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance to save. The first round of the playoffs will be lower bowl seating only at Rexall Place so fans are also encouraged to purchase their tickets early.

All playoff tickets are on sale now. That includes the brand new Playoff Pass presented by ATB Financial. A one-time, low price of $99 will secure your seat for every Oil Kings home playoff game in 2012. The Playoff Pass is available for a limited time only while supplies last.

Plus there's great news for all Oil Kings fans - the Never Waste A Ticket program will be extended into the first round of the playoffs. The Hockey Club encourages you to bring a fan that's never experienced 'THE OTHER' Oil In Town and get them hooked on Oil Kings Hockey in the first round of the WHL playoffs! Don't forget to swap your tickets prior to game day at the Telus Field ticket office to avoid the game day rush.

The Oil Kings 2011-12 season is presented by JLT, Insurance & Risk Management. Oil Kings tickets are available online at oilkings.ca, via phone at 780-414-GOAL (4625) or at any Ticketmaster outlet.
