Riggers sign second goalie
November 7, 2005 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Calgary Roughnecks News Release
Calgary, AB ( Monday, November 7, 2005) - Goaltender Andrew Leyshon was today re-signed by Calgary Roughnecks General Manager Kurt Silcott.
The one year pact is subject to National Lacrosse League approval.
Leyshon, 25, dressed for all 17 of the Roughnecks games (16 regular season and one playoff) last year, but mainly in a supporting role to Curtis Palidwor.
"Andrew is a fine goaltender with a bright future. But for the time being he'll continue to serve as a back up to starter Palidwor," said Silcott.
In all, Leyshon has dressed for 49 NLL games (32 were with the now defunct Ottawa Rebel) and in that time has amassed a 14.78 goals against average and a save percentage of 74.28.
Leyshon, 6 ft. and 230 lbs, was acquired by the Riggers as a free agent just prior to the 2004-05 season. He lives in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.
