Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - Speedy forward Josh Sims, the last of the Colorado Mammoth's core group of players from last season yet to be signed, agreed to a two-year contract with the team on Monday.

Sims, a veteran of five National Lacrosse League seasons, played two seasons for the Washington Power before the franchise relocated to Denver. He is one of six players on the current Mammoth roster to have been with the team since it debuted in Colorado in 2003.

Sims, 27, set career-highs in 2005 in goals (14) and games played (16) and tied his career-best with 28 points. In the process he scored his 50th career goal and eclipsed the 100-point mark. He has also been solid in the postseason throughout his career, notching nine goals in seven playoff games.

"Josh Sims is an integral part of this franchise and we're thrilled to have him back for another two seasons," Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. "He's always made things happen offensively because of his speed, but I think last season he really showed that he can finish a play and put the ball in the net."

Sims, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound native of Annapolis, Md., was a three-time, first-team All-American at Princeton University. He is the co-founder of Icon lacrosse and lives in Superior, Colo.
