The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today they have signed import defensive lineman John Chick. Financial details of the signing were not released.

Chick (6'4 - 250) returns to the Riders after spending the last three seasons in the National Football League. This will be the Gillette, WY natives second stint and fourth season with the Green and White after originally joining the team in 2007. In his first season, Chick started 13 games, recording five sacks, on his way to being named the Riders Most Outstanding Rookie and helping the club win the Grey Cup. Injuries limited him to eight games in 2008 before breaking out in 2009 with 32 defensive tackles and 11 quarterback sacks while being named the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player.

The 30-year-old entered the NFL in 2010 with the Indianapolis Colts before moving to the Jacksonville Jaguars for the next two seasons where he appeared in a total of 19 regular season games.
