Frisco RoughRiders News Release
Frisco won its third straight game on Sunday night, rallying to beat Arkansas, 8-7.
With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the eighth, center fielder Engel Beltre hit a deep sacrifice fly that allowed Renny Osuna to score the go-ahead run. Beltre, playing in his third game with the 'Riders, went 3-3 with one home run and four RBI. Frisco trailed 7-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning before making a comeback for its 47th win of the season.
Martin Perez (3-4, 5.46) started for Frisco and allowed seven runs (5 ER) on six hits. He walked two and struck out five batters.
The Frisco bullpen was called upon in the top of the sixth inning, charged with the task of holding Arkansas at seven runs. The trio of Evan Reed, Adalberto Flores, and Cody Eppley held the Travelers without a run over the final 3.2 innings, as the visiting team only managed two hits after Perez left the game. Eppley recorded his eighth save of the season with Frisco, as he pitched a perfect ninth inning.
Frisco (47-32) will play the second game of a three-game series with Arkansas (30-50) on Monday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
Notes
The RoughRiders are 9-1 in the second half of the season.
