Frisco RoughRiders News Release
TULSA, OKLA. - The Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, gave up two home runs which made the difference in Thursday night's 3-1 loss to the Tulsa Drillers in the series finale at ONEOK Field.
First baseman Cody Bellinger hit both home runs for Tulsa (23-23) against Riders (30-16) starter Sam Wolff (4-3). The first was a game-tying solo home run in the fifth, and the other was a two-run homer to give the Drillers a 3-1 lead the following inning.
Preston Beck drove in Frisco's only run with a triple to score Ronald Guzman in the third inning. Beck finished the game 4-for-4, falling just a home run short of the cycle.
After Beck's RBI triple in the second, the Riders put runners on base in six of the remaining seven innings. However, the team left seven men on base and finished the game 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position. In the series, the Riders were just 4-for-23 with runners in scoring position.
After being swept for the second time this season, the Riders begin another three-game series Friday night at 7:10 p.m. against the Springfield Cardinals.
