
Riders add Kavis Reed to coaching staff

Saskatchewan Roughrider head coach Ken Miller announced today Kavis Reed has been named the club's running back's coach and special teams coordinator.
Reed joins the Green and White after spending the past two seasons in Toronto. After overseeing the defensive backs in 2007 with the Argonauts, he took on the role of defensive coordinator for the team in 2008. Prior to joining Toronto, Reed spent three seasons as the defensive coordinator for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 2002, Reed joined the Ottawa Renegades coaching staff as the club's defensive back's coach and special teams coordinator. Reed began his coaching career in 2001 with Toronto as the defensive backs coach.
Before switching to the coaching ranks, Reed was a star player with the Edmonton Eskimos from 1995-2000 and was named a CFL all-star in 1997. Kavis and his wife Darlene have two children, Tyra and Tarik.
