RHP Rolando Valdez Added to Missions Roster

SAN ANTONIO - The Antonio Missions announced today that right-handed pitcher Rolando Valdez will join the team for Thursday's series finale against the Frisco RoughRiders. Valdez was a non-drafted free agent, originally signed by the Padres on February 16, 2005. He has gone 24-16 with a 3.12 ERA (102 ER/294.1 IP) in 149 appearances (26 starts) over three minor league seasons, reaching as high as Lake Elsinore in 2007. He has struck out 279 while walking only 78 in his career.

To clear room for Valdez, right-handed pitcher Neil Jamison has been sent to Single-A Lake Elsinore. Jamison allowed six runs in 6.0 innings pitched (9.00 ERA) with no record for the Missions in 2009.

The Missions host Frisco tonight for Texas Lottery Dollar Night in the final game of a four-game set and an eight-game homestand.
