The Chicago Cubs have announced the following roster moves affecting the Myrtle Beach Pelicans:

-RHP Jeremy Null has been assigned to Myrtle Beach from Extended Spring Training. He will wear No. 36.

-RHP James Pugliese has been activated off the 7-day disabled list.

-C Erick Castillo has been assigned to Myrtle Beach from Low-A South Bend and placed on the 7-day disabled list, retroactive to May 6. He will wear No. 44.

Null was a member of the Pelicans' 2015 championship team. After going 6-2 with a 2.70 ERA in 12 starts with South Bend, he posted a 2-3 record and 4.70 ERA with Myrtle Beach in 10 games, nine starts. He fanned 82 against just 11 walks in 117.1 innings in 2015.

Pugliese missed 14 games on the disabled list. He has throw in three games for the Pelicans this season, with seven strikeouts, no walks and four hits allowed in 5.0 innings. The New Jersey native also allowed just one run in four innings over two appearances with Double-A Tennessee. In 55.0 innings over 30 games with Myrtle Beach in 2015, he 4-2 with a 2.62 ERA, fanning 49 against 13 walks.

Castillo began the year on the DL with Myrtle Beach before getting transferred to South Bend, where he went 0-for-8 with a walk in three games.

The Pelicans' roster sits at 25 active players, with three players on the disabled list.
