The Chicago Cubs have announced the following roster moves that impact the Myrtle Beach Pelicans roster:
RHP Jeffrey Passantino has been activated from the 7-day Injured List
LHP Ryan Kellogg has been placed on the 7-day Injured List
Passantino, who has pitched at all the full-season Cubs affiliates this year, is back with the Pelicans and will start on Wednesday. The righty is 1-1 with a 2.16 ERA with the Pelicans this season and is holding opponents to a .191 batting average. With Low-A South Bend, he was a Mid-Season All-Star in the Midwest League, going 2-1 with a 4.24 ERA over his 14 outings out of the bullpen. A 40th-round selection in 2017, Passantino spent three seasons at Lipscomb before being selected by Chicago.
Passantino will wear No. 48. The Pelicans roster now sits at 25 active members with seven players on the Injured List.
