Winston-Salem Dash News Release
The Chicago White Sox have announced the following roster moves affecting the Winston-Salem Dash:
- RHP Brandon Brennan promoted to Double-A Birmingham from Winston-Salem
- LHP Tanner Banks promoted to Winston-Salem from Low-A Kannapolis (number TBA)
A member of the White Sox 40-man roster, Brennan went 1-4 with a 4.54 earned run average in seven starts with Winston-Salem this season. Brennan capped his time in the Carolina League with back-to-back nine-inning complete games, becoming the first Minor Leaguer since Dillon Gee on July 28 and August 3 of 2015 to accomplish this feat. Brennan returns to the Barons, with whom he made four starts to begin the season.
Banks earns his first career promotion to the High-A level after a sterling start to his 2016 season with Low-A Kannapolis. The southpaw was 6-3 with a 2.87 earned run average in 69.0 innings, which are good for second-most among South Atlantic League hurlers. Banks was one of four Intimidators who earned an All-Star spot, the SAL announced on Tuesday.
The Dash's roster stands at the Carolina League maximum of 25 players, along with one on the disabled list.
