El Paso Rhinos News Release
Meeting for the second time this season, the Rhinos & Brahmas will fight it out once more. Taking to the ice the first period the Brahmas put themselves on the board first with one goal at 4:36 into the period. With Rhinos failing to score in the first, we move on to the second where once again, Brahmas score early on for a 2-0 lead. The Rhinos return the favor with two goals in the next few minutes as Luke Lindsay and James Hooley tie up the game at 2-2. Just before the period is out the Brahmas' Brock James snatches the lead back and the score sits at 3-2 heading into the third period. As the Rhinos try their best to keep up the defense, the Brahmas would eventually wear them down and score two back-to-back goals with just over three minutes left in the game. With one final goal in the last minute, the Rhinos effectively tripled the Rhinos' score and take a 6-2 victory.
Saturday: El Paso Rhinos 1 @ Lone Star Brahmas 5 - Returning to the ice for Game #2, the Rhinos & Brahmas faced off one last time tonight. Brahmas took the early game lead with Owen Kerr scoring at just 1:28 into the period. With the Rhinos failing to break through Brahmas' defense, we move onto the second period at a 1-0 game. Just before the halfway point in regulation time the Brahmas increased their lead to 3-0 over the Rhinos with two back-to-back goals. Rhinos are quick to respond to this with a goal of their own as Gavin Duckworth puts them on the board. The period is rounded out with one final goal from the Brahmas and the score is set at 4-1, Rhinos trailing behind. Only one goal would be scored this entire period when Anthony Capello sinks the puck in the net for the Brahmas' fifth goal of the night. Rhinos fall 5-1 to the Brahmas, who take this series in a sweep.
