RGV's Jesse Bennefield Named Sher-Wood/TPS Central Hockey League Player of the Month

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League announced today that forward Jesse Bennefield of the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees has been named the Sher-Wood/TPS Central Hockey League Player of the Month for the month of November/2009. Bennefield will receive a Sher-Wood/TPS portable DVD player, courtesy of Sher-Wood/TPS, to recognize his accomplishment.

Bennefield, 28, led all players in the league with 12 goals during the month. Added with his nine assists, the Calgary, Alberta native finished November with 21 points. Of his dozen goals, six came on the power play. The sniper scored goals in 10 of the teams 14 games during the month that saw the Bees post an impressive 8-3-3 record.

The 6-0, 195-pound forward currently leads the league with 15 goals and his 28 points (15-13=28) are sixth in the CHL. He is also tied for the league lead with seven power play goals.

Other players receiving consideration for the monthly award for November include Allen's Justin Bowers and Bruce Graham, Amarillo's Jake Morissette, Arizona's Kevin Gardner, Colorado's Riley Nelson and Ed McGrane, Corpus Christi's Ryan Garbutt, Laredo's Jeff Bes, Missouri's Jeff Christian, Odessa's Dominic Leveille, Rapid City's Les Reaney, RGV's Grant Goeckner-Zoeller, Tulsa's T.J. Caig, Aaron Davis and Rob Hisey and Wichita's Glenn Detulleo.
