Laredo's Jean-Philippe Levasseur Named Sher-Wood/TPS CHL Goaltender Of The Month

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League announced today that Jean-Philippe Levasseur of the Laredo Bucks has been named the Sher-Wood/TPS Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for the month of November/2009. Levasseur will receive a portable DVD player, courtesy of Sher-Wood/TPS, to recognize his accomplishment.

Levasseur, 22, finished the month with a 6-1-1 record including winning each of his first four starts in November. The Victoriaville, Quebec native had a 2.29 goals against average allowing 19 goals in his eight starts. He stopped 215 of 234 shots for a.919 save percentage.

The 2005 NHL draft pick of the Anaheim Ducks is 9-1-2 on the season with a 2.44 goals, third best in the CHL and is carrying a.913 save percentage.

Other players receiving consideration for the monthly award for October include Allen's Chris Whitley, Bossier-Shreveport's Ken Carroll, Colorado's Andrew Penner, Corpus Christi's Kevin Nastiuk, Odessa's Joel Martin, Rapid City's Danny Battochio and Miguel Beaudry, Rio Grande Valley's Andy Franck and Tulsa's Kevin Armstrong.
