RGV's Bennefield Named Sher-Wood/TPS CHL Player Of The Month

HIDALGO, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and the Central Hockey League (CHL) today announced that forward Jesse Bennefield has received the league's Player of the Month Award for November.

Bennefield, 28, helped pace RGV to a franchise-best 8-3-3 month of November. The Calgary native posted 21 points (12-9-21), 10 of which came via the power play (6-4-10). The 6-0, 195-pound forward currently leads the league with 15 goals and his 28 points (15-13-28) are sixth in the CHL. He is also tied for the league lead with seven power play goals.

In 14 games during the month, Bennefield was held scoreless just twice and posted eight multi-point games. He currently has points in 10 consecutive games (11-5-16) and goals in four straight (5). He had a five-game goal streak (6 goals) from Nov. 14-21.

This is the first Player of the Month Award for a Killer Bees player in the six-plus season history of the franchise. Bennefield will receive a Sher-Wood/TPS portable DVD player, courtesy of Sher-Wood/TPS, to recognize his accomplishment

The Killer Bees return home on Saturday night against the Arizona Sundogs. The first 2000 fans receive old school Killer Bees lunch tins courtesy First National Bank and Fox Rio 2.
