The York Revolution erupted for five runs to break a tie score in the eighth, winning their fourth straight with a 10-6 victory on Friday night at Somerset in front of 5,179 fans at TD Bank Ballpark. The Revs remain within 2.5 games of first and reach a season-high seven games over .500 at 27-20 in the second half with two games remaining on their current road trip.

Tied at 5-5, Yeicok Calderon got things started in the eighth with a double down the left field line. With one out, Bryan Pounds rolled a grounder off the third base bag for an infield hit, extending his hitting streak to nine games. After an intentional walk to Telvin Nash loaded the bases, pinch-hitter Brandon Boggs cracked a tiebreaking two-run double into the right field corner, off the glove of right fielder Mike Wilson who was in pursuit. With two outs, Jose Constanza reached as second baseman Jonny Tucker mishandled a ground ball, allowing another run to score on the error. Mikey Reynolds punctuated the outburst by blasting a two-run double to deep left-center, making it a 10-5 lead.

York's bullpen was outstanding, keeping the Patriots at bay after a quick start. Edward Paredes entered in the fourth and fired 2.1 scoreless innings without allowing a hit, while Tony Pena (2-2) gave up just one hit over two scoreless frames to pick up the win. Mike DeMark allowed just an unearned run on a two-out error in the ninth when Thomas Neal's fly ball to deep right-center glanced off Constanza's glove allowing an inconsequential run to cross.

The Revs jumped ahead 3-0 in the third. With two outs and nobody on, Constanza and Reynolds worked walks. A double steal set the stage for Eric Patterson who nailed a two-run single to center to open the scoring. Patterson took second on the throw home, and scored on Calderon's base hit to right.

York starter Cody Scarpetta worked out of trouble in impressive fashion in his debut. Scarpetta worked a scoreless first despite having a runner at second with no outs after Robert Andino walked and stole second. Scarpetta also rebounded from a leadoff triple by Mike Wilson in the second, striking out the next two batters before retiring Tucker on a ground ball to first.

Somerset broke through in the bottom of the third, scoring on a sac fly by Neal, and a three-run homer to left-center by Wilson on a 3-0 green light with two outs in the inning, swiping a 4-3 lead.

Scarpetta took a no-decision over 3.2 innings, and was charged with a fifth run after his exit when Nate Spears scored on a wild pitch by Paredes with two outs in the fourth. Scarpetta spent most of the night battling, having a runner in scoring position before recording an out in each of his four innings of work.

The Revs quickly tied the game, taking advantage of a Somerset miscue for two runs in the fifth inning. Nick Ferdinand worked his way on with a leadoff walk and Constanza followed with a single to left-center. Reynolds dropped down a sacrifice bunt, as pitcher R.J. Seidel threw wildly at first, allowing Ferdinand to score on the error. Constanza scored on a double play to tie the game at 5-5. It would remain that way until the Revs sent nine men to the plate in the five-run eighth inning, which featured four base hits, doubling both their run and hit total over the first seven frames.
