New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Currently standing alone atop the Eastern Conference and MLS standings and riding a league-best six-game unbeaten streak, the New England Revolution (8-3-2, 26 pts.) will host the Eastern Conference rival New York Red Bulls (4-4-3, 15 pts.) on Wednesday, June 18 at Gillette Stadium. The game will be televised regionally on TV38 beginning at 7:30 p.m., while radio listeners can catch the action live on WRKO 680 AM.
Not only will the Revs aim to extend their current unbeaten run, but they'll also seek to continue their recent success over the Red Bulls. New England has held the upper-hand in the series in recent years, going 6-0-3 in the club's last nine regular-season meetings with New York since 2005 and sending the Red Bulls out of the playoffs three times since 2003. Additionally, the Revolution has had particular success against New York at home, where the club is 15-4-3 all-time, including an 8-1-2 mark at Gillette Stadium.
The meeting is the second of the season between the two sides and will conclude the two-game, regular-season series. On April 19 at Giants Stadium, a 56th-minute Jeff Larentowicz free kick earned the Revs a 1-1 draw, despite playing down a man for the final 45 minutes.
