
CONCACAF Announces Game Dates

CONCACAF announced today the complete schedule of match-ups for both the Preliminary Round and Group Stage for the 2008-09 CONCACAF Champions League.
Toronto FC will participate as the Canadian representative if they are winners of the Nutrilite Canadian Championships in which they are battling both the Vancouver Whitecaps and Montreal Impact.
Toronto FC will play their next Nutrilite Canadian Championship match on July 1 at BMO Field when they welcome the Vancouver Whitecaps, their final match of the tournament will be July 22 when Montreal makes the trip to Toronto. Tickets are still available for both games by calling (416) 360-GOAL.
The Canadian Champion's first match against the Nicaraguan Champion will be at home on August 27. If Toronto FC progresses, the match will be at BMO Field three days prior to their away game against Chivas USA. The return leg of that series will be played in Nicaragua on September 2.
Winners from the Preliminary stage will progress to the Group Stage joining the eight other seeded teams in the competition. Canada has been drawn in Group C along with Mexican team Atlante FC, a Honduras side CD Olimpia or CD Marathon as well as the winner between the New England Revolution or Joe Public FC from Trinidad and Tobago. Below is an outline of the schedule of the group.
