York Revolution News Release

Jesse Hoorelbeke's walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning forced the York Revolution to settle for a four-game split in their weekend series, as the Somerset Patriots took the finale 3-2 in front of 7,390 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Father's Day afternoon. The Revs will return home to open a seven-game homestand on Monday at 6:30 p.m. against the Sugar Land Skeeters.

The Revs trailed 2-0 in the second inning as Hoorelbeke and Yusuf Carter each homered to left field.

York answered back in the top of the third, tying things at 2-2 on a Chris Nowak single through the left side.

Neither team scored again until the bottom of the ninth, when with one out Freddie Bynum singled to left and stole second prompting York to intentionally walk Jeff Nettles, which paved the way for Hoorelbeke's winning knock.

Patriots reliever Chase Wright (2-0) earned the win with 1.2 scoreless innings. Right-hander Carlton Smith also went 2.1 scoreless in relief of starter Derell McCall, who allowed two runs, only one earned, in his five innings.

Revs relievers allowed just one run in 6.1 innings. Yunior Novoa fired four scoreless frames in relief of spot starter James Houser who tossed the first two innings of the game, striking out four and allowing only the two solo homers. Ricardo Gomez did not allow a run in 1.2 innings, maneuvering around a leadoff double by Aaron Mathews in the bottom of the eighth, with help from Kris Regas who struck out Joe Holden to strand Mathews at second keeping things tied at the time.

York pitchers allowed just six runs in four games in the series, and have allowed only eight runs over the last six contests.

Revs lefty Matt Chico will make his York debut, starting against the Skeeters on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. It is a Hatfield Dollar Dog Night at Sovereign Bank Stadium, as well as Turkey Hill Bottle Cap Night, as fans can redeem a bottle cap from a Turkey Hill beverage for a free field box ticket (limit six per person). Tickets are available at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS, and in-person at the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office.
