CAMDEN, New Jersey - Heath Phillips fired seven innings of three-hit ball giving up just one earned-run in route to a 5-1 win over the Camden Riversharks on Father's Day extended the Skeeters winning streak to three at Campbell's Field Sunday afternoon.

Phillips (1-4) picked up his first win of the season in his longest outing of the season and helped Sugar Land to their third road-series win of the season; their first over the Camden Riversharks (24-26). Phillips allowed just four base runners throughout the game retiring seven in a row to start the game and eight in a row in the middle innings. Ryan McKeller worked two innings to close the game without allowing a hit in six batters faced.

Sugar Land (21-28) scored first but not until the third inning off starting pitcher Kevin Reese (1-3). With two outs in the inning, Bubba Bell walked. Miguel Negron doubled into the left-center field gap to push Bell into scoring position, and with two on and two out, Jason Lane took a pitch the opposite way to allow both Bell and Negron to score the go-ahead runs, 2-0.

Reese worked his way through the fourth and fifth innings without giving up a run, but the Skeeters bit again in the sixth. With two on and one out, Iggy Suarez smacked his fifth RBI of the series off a single into center bringing Lane home from third to put Sugar Land ahead, 3-0.

The only run for the Riversharks came in the bottom of the seventh. Phillips walked Brian Burgamy to lead off the inning, and after a stolen base to get in scoring position, with two outs and one on, catcher Raul Padron singled into right bringing the lone run around to cut the lead down to two, 3-1.

However, the Skeeters countered in the eighth. Again, with two outs in the inning and the bases loaded, right fielder Ryde Rodriguez stepped up to bat. Reliever Josh Walter left a slider hanging out over the plate, and Rodriguez used it to his advantage with a base knock up the middle, which allowed two to score. With the score 5-1, the Skeeters brought in McKeller from the bullpen for the first time this season to seal the win.
