New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution picked up their first point of the 2015 season, playing to a 0-0 draw with the Montreal Impact on Saturday afternoon in their home opener at Gillette Stadium. The Revs played up a man for the final 29 minutes after Montreal defender was sent off after receiving his second yellow card. However, the Revs were unable to break the deadlock and were forced to settle for the draw.
Diego Fagundez and Juan Agudelo were each dangerous in the opening 45 minutes for the Revs while, at the other end of the field, Dominic Oduro had the best chance for the Impact, firing a shot just wide of the far post from inside the box late in the half.
The Impact were reduced to 10 men in the 61st minute when Hassoun Camara was shown his second yellow card of the game and was sent off. Shortly after going up a man, Lee Nguyen had a pair of chances, driving a long-range shot on target, only for Evan Bush to make the save and then heading over the bar from the center of the area off a cross from Chris Tierney.
Andrew Farrell had the last chance to break the deadlock in the 90th minute, but his left-footed attempt was blocked and then cleared away by the Montreal defense, assuring each side of a point.
