New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (9-3-6; 33 pts.) will conclude the three-game homestand on Saturday night when Toronto FC (3-5-10; 19 pts.) visits Gillette Stadium. Saturday's match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET, Free on Apple TV in English, Spanish, and French. Jake Zivin and Taylor Twellman will call the match in English, with Pablo Ramirez and Andres Agulla providing Spanish commentary, and Matt Cullen and Sebastien Le Toux on the call in French. Saturday's match can also be heard on the radio locally on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies providing commentary, and on 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA in Portuguese.
New England carries a 6-0-3 home record into the Eastern Conference matchup as one of three MLS teams still unbeaten at home. With a win or draw on Saturday, the Revolution will set a new club mark for the longest home-undefeated streak to open a season. New England is outscoring opponents 21-8 in league play at home, including 3-1 victories over Inter Miami CF and Orlando City SC in the first two legs of the homestand. The Revolution attack has been firing on all cylinders since late May, netting exactly three goals in four of the last five game. As a unit, the team ranks fourth in MLS with 31 goals scored and is averaging 2.33 goals per game in Foxborough.
Last weekend's win over Orlando featured goal-and-assist performances from both Gustavo Bou and Carles Gil, landing them on the MLS Team of the Matchday 19. Emmanuel Boateng also netted his second goal of this season in the victory. Gil is in an elite run of form with five goals and four assists in his last seven games, raising his season totals to seven tallies and eight assists, both team highs. The Spanish midfielder has been especially strong at home, with two goals and three assists through the first two games of the current homestand.
Bou, who now owns three goals and two assists this season, played all 90 minutes in his second start since returning from a leg injury. The Argentinian now has 40 goals in his MLS regular season career. Massachusetts native Noel Buck also returned to the starting lineup after missing two games with an injury, though the Revolution will be without defender DeJuan Jones for the match against Toronto as he begins the Concacaf Gold Cup campaign with the U.S. Men's National Team this Saturday. Goalkeeper Djordje Petrović is expected to be available for selection after missing the last match while on international duty with Serbia.
The Revolution will look to improve on a 2-0-2 record in the last four meetings with Toronto FC, including a 2-0 win on the road in the season's first encounter with Bob Bradley's side. Goals from Jones and Bobby Wood, and a five-save shutout effort by Petrović, led New England to victory. Toronto travels to Foxborough on a quick turnaround from a 3-0 midweek loss at FC Cincinnati on Wednesday. The Revolution hold a 10-4-6 advantage at home in the all-time series against the Reds, who sit 14th in the Eastern Conference. Gil leads New England's roster with three goals, plus one assist, in six games against TFC.
