New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (5-5-5; 20 pts.) play host to Minnesota United FC (5-6-3; 18 pts) on Sunday for a 5:00 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium, with Brad Feldman, Charlie Davies, and Tamara Brown calling the action on WSBK-TV38, myRITV, and 98.5 The Sports Hub. CBS Boston's pregame coverage begins with "Revolution Kickoff" at 4:30 p.m. ET on TV38, hosted by Dan Roche. The match also airs in Portuguese on 1260 AM Nossa Radio.

This weekend, the Revolution and all 28 Major League Soccer clubs, in partnership with Black Players for Change (BPC), will celebrate the Juneteenth holiday on the anniversary of the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the U.S. Across MLS, "Lift Every Voice and Sing" will be performed prior to kickoff, and all 28 clubs will wear Juneteenth-inspired "Freedom to Be" numbers designed by Black queer artist Judah "Tip" Middleton, and "Unity" warm-up tops as part of a league-wide recognition in partnership with Black Players for Change (BPC). The special edition jerseys will be auctioned to benefit Man Up of Rhode Island, which provides a broad range of unique workforce development and higher educational opportunities, resources, and support services for formerly incarcerated men of color. In addition, Nicole Jacob, a representative of the North Shore Juneteenth Association, will be honored before the contest as the club's Hero of the Match.

The Revolution have not lost in seven straight games entering Sunday following a 1-1 midweek draw with Orlando City SC. Forward Gustavo Bou reached the scoresheet for the third straight game, providing the assist on midfielder Carles Gil's fourth goal of the 2022 campaign. Gil, a two-time MLS Best XI honoree, remains in top form as the league leader in assists (T-1st), chances created (1st), and successful crosses (1st). Also in the attack, midfielder Dylan Borrero made his fourth straight appearance and his second consecutive start since arriving in Foxborough in May.

The Revolution will meet Minnesota United for the first time since March 30, 2019, when New England secured a 2-1 win in Foxborough. The two sides have met three times, with the Revolution leading the all-time series, 2-1-0, with a perfect 2-0-0 mark at home. New England carries a 3-2-3 home record into the contest, with results in each of its last five matches in Foxborough. The Loons fell to New York City FC, 1-0, in their most recent match on May 28. Minnesota has registered just one win in its last six games.

New England will bid farewell to goalkeeper Matt Turner after Sunday's match, as the United States international is set to join Arsenal FC of the English Premier League. Turner joined the Revolution in 2016 as an undrafted free agent and has matured into one of the top goalkeepers in MLS and club history. The 27-year-old has posted a 43-25-33 (.589) career record in New England to date, owning the 8th best winning percentage among all goalkeepers in MLS history (min. 20 wins), while helping the Revolution to three consecutive postseason appearances from 2019-2021. In 2021, Turner logged 17 wins, matching a club record, en route to MLS All-Star, Best XI, and Goalkeeper of the Year honors as the Revolution lifted the Supporters' Shield for the first time in franchise history.
