New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - For the first time since the clubs met in the opening round of the 2008 MLS Cup Playoffs, the New England Revolution and Chicago Fire will renew their rivalry when they clash on Saturday, May 9, at Toyota Park. The game will be televised live on TV38 beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET, while the WEEI Radio Network will also carry the action.
Saturday night's encounter will mark the first meeting between New England (2-2-2, 8 pts.) and Chicago (2-0-5, 11 pts.) since the Fire eliminated the Revolution in last season's Eastern Conference Semifinal Series, 3-0 on aggregate. The last time the clubs met was in Game Two of that series at Toyota Park, where Chicago earned a 3-0 victory and ended the Revolution's season before the Eastern Conference Championship game for the first time in seven years.
This will be the first of two regular-season meetings between the Revs and Fire this season, and the only one at Toyota Park. The regular-season series will conclude at Gillette Stadium on Oct. 17 in the Revolution's home finale.
