Sacramento Republic FC News Release

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento Republic FC announced today the club has signed defender Elliott Hord to a USL Championship contract for the 2019 season with a club option for 2020, pending league and federation approval.

We are delighted to bring back Elliott and the versatility he provides on the right flank," said Republic FC General Manager Todd Dunivant. "He crosses the ball as well as anyone in the league and will further add continuity to our locker room."

Hord enters his fourth season with Republic FC after joining the club in August 2016 from USL League Two side Fresno Fuego. The 27-year-old midfielder made 20 appearances for Sacramento across all competitions in 2018, scoring two goals and adding four assists, including a goal against MLS-side LAFC in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16.

A Fresno native, Hord played collegiately at UC Davis from 2010-13, making 67 appearances and recording a goal and three assists during his four seasons with the Aggies. After college, Hord joined the Fresno Fuego before moving abroad to play with Yxhults IK in the Swedish third division. He returned to the Fuego after a season in Sweden before joining Republic FC midway through the 2016 season.
