Sacramento Republic FC News Release

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento Republic FC announced today the club has acquired defender Chris Gloster on what is expected to be a short term loan from New York City FC pending league and federation approval.

"We are excited to welcome a player of Chris' caliber into our squad," Republic FC President and General Manager Todd Dunivant said. "Chris brings a two-way threat to the left side of the field for us and will be valuable as we enter a busy stretch of the season."

Gloster, a Montclair, New Jersey native, joined NYCFC this March after playing in Europe for Hannover 96 II and PSV Eindhoven's Jong PSV reserve squad. He has an extensive history within the United States youth national team program, including helping lead the U.S. to the quarterfinals of the 2019 U-20 World Cup and 2017 U-17 World Cup.

Chris has been an available substitute in all of NYCFC's matches this season and has appeared twice. Gloster will be available for the team's next match on Wednesday, when Republic FC host Oakland Roots SC at Heart Health Park. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast locally on KQCA My58 and Estrella TV Sacramento, as well as streaming on ESPN+.
