Reno Aces Game Notes vs. Fresno

April 9, 2018 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Reno Aces News Release

Today's Game: The Aces look for their first series win of the season this af-ternoon against the Fresno Grizzlies. Fresno has taken the last two contests, but Reno has veteran right-hander Jake Buchanan on the mound looking to replicate his success in Reno from last season. Buchanan went 5-0 with the Biggest Little City in 2017 and even picked up a PCL Pitcher of the Week award on 8/13.

Poetry In Motion: Last night, Socrates Brito extended his hitting streak to four games with a 1-for-3 day. On Satuday night, the D-backs' No. 14 pros-pect went 5-for-5 which tied the Reno Aces record for most hits in a game. This was done twice in 2017; once by Oswaldo Arcia and once by Kristopher Negron.

Mr. PCL: Cody Decker was added to the Aces roster this morning, replacing Christian Walker as a first base option for Skipper Greg Gross. Decker has 189 career MiLB HR and 82 in the Pacific Coast League. Decker also needs one double to hit 200 in his career. Fresh off the plane, Decker launched a two-run home run off the video board in left field in his first Aces at bat.

Mayfield's Jacks: With a fifth inning grand slam Saturday at Reno in a 15-8 win, Jack Mayfield now has a grand slam in three consecutive seasons (two with Fresno), and each has come in a road game.
