WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - Hudson Valley scored three times in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally and top the BlueClaws 3-2 on Tuesday in the first game of their seven-game series at Dutchess Stadium.

Hudson Valley (25-26) trailed 2-0 heading into the eighth but scored three times to rally and win the series opener. The BlueClaws (19-31) and Renegades have split six meetings so far this year.

Erubiel Armenta started the eighth and gave up a single and a walk before being removed for Jason Ruffcorn. After a walk loaded the bases, a Trey Sweeney groundout scored one run. Sweeney then stole second and Pat DeMarco scored on a throwing error to tie the game. Everson Pereira doubled home Sweeney to give the Renegades their first lead of the game.

The BlueClaws threatened in the ninth but Freylin Minyety grounded into a double play to end the game with runners on first and third. Tanner Myatt got the last three outs to earn his third save.

Rixon Wingrove had RBI singles in both the third and the eighth innings to put the BlueClaws up 2-0. The Australian first baseman went 3-3 in the walk and is now hitting .406 since joining the BlueClaws on May 24th.

Jersey Shore starter Kyle Glogoski gave up one hit over five scoreless innings and struck out eight. Andrew Schultz threw a scoreless sixth inning for Jersey Shore.

The teams play a double-header on Wednesday, making up a game rained out in Lakewood last month. RHP Dominic Pipkin starts game one for Jersey Shore while RHP Griff McGarry starts game two.
