The Québec Remparts stun the Islanders coming back to win 6-5.

Aksels Ozols was credited with his ninth loss of the season in his seventeenth start.

Giovanni Morneau won the opening draw and the Isles went to work.

Alexis Michaud had a chance in the slot. His shot was stopped off of Remparts' goaltender Quentin Miller's pad. Michael Horth picked up the rebound but he couldn't convert.

After a minute, Isaac Vos took a delay of game penalty as he put it out of play, sending Québec to the power play.

Ozols made some key saves while a man down and the Isles were able to kill off the penalty without any damage.

But not long after, Kyle Powers took a hooking penalty and this time, their power play clicked.

Zachary Marquis-Laflamme buried a back-door pass from Kassim Gaudet to give the Remparts the first lead of the game.

Québec went right back to the power play though as Anthony Flanagan took a hooking penalty, but the Isles killed it off.

Right as the penalty expired, Horth was able to get in all alone with Miller. His back-hand shot was turned aside.

Charlottetown's third line of Lucas Romeo, Brett Arsenault and Matthew Butler went to work in the offensive end. They cycled the puck well and it led to a Simon Duguay shot that was deflected wide.

Charles Savoie then took a roughing penalty to give the Isles their first power play chance of the game.

It clicked. Marcus Kearsey ripped a feed from Morneau at the top of the circle to tie the game at one. Michaud also had an assist.

Then, just 20 seconds later, Lucas Romeo tipped a shot from Carl-Ettiene Michel to give the Isles the lead.

We took the 2-1 lead into the first intermission and brought the shots back to even at 12 despite being outshot 12-3.

The Isles started to gain momentum as the second period started.

When Québec came back the other way, Ozols kept the door shut.

Just over the halk-way mark of the period, Romeo buried his second goal of the game to give the Isles a 3-1 lead. Butler added his second assist of the game and Vos stayed hot with another assist.

Then two minutes later, Morneau scored his tenth of the season and his second in just as many games to extend the lead to three goals.

The Remparts responded. Marquis-Laflamme scored his second of the game 44 seconds later to bring it back within two.

The back-and-forth affair continued as Cole Huckins extended his point streak as he scored his eighth of the season. Simon Hughes also stayed hot with an assist while Michel added his second helper of the game.

The score was 5-2 in favour of the Islanders heading into the third period.

The Remparts then took off.

It was Vsevolod Komarov who kickstarted the comeback as he dangled through the Isles defence and wrapped around the net.

Charles Savoie then brought it back within one scoring his third of the season.

The Isles fended off the surging Québec offence but eventually, with their goaltender on the bench, they tied it. Marquis-Laflamme completed the hat trick as he scored off of a one-timer on an open goal.

While Charlottetown tried to force overtime, Mikael Huchette had other plans, putting Québec up with 51 seconds to go in regulation.

The Isles ran out of steam. They ended up losing 6-5 despite carrying a 5-2 lead into the third,

The Remparts outshot the Isles 37-26.

The Islanders return home to take on the Cape Breton Eagles on Tuesday, Dec. 5. Puck drop at the Eastlink Centre is at 7 p.m.
