Reign FC's Solo, Rapinoe and Leroux Called up to USWNT for International Friendly

SEATTLE (August 14, 2014) - The U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT)recently announced the roster for an upcoming international friendly against Switzerland on August 20.

Three Reign FC players have been named to the roster for the match including goalkeeper Hope Solo, midfielder Megan Rapinoe and forward Sydney Leroux.

Under head coach Jill Ellis, the U.S. Women's National Team travels to face Switzerland Wednesday, August 20, at 4:30 p.m. (PT) at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. The match will be broadcast live online on ussoccer.com. The USWNT enter the match with a 7-2-3 record in 2014.

Solo comes into the match with her first attempt to break the USA's all-time shutout record. Solo is currently tied with Briana Scurry for first on the USA's all-time shutout list with 71. In 19 matches for Seattle, Solo posted a goals against average of .895 and has the most wins of any NWSL keeper with a record of 13-1-5.

Rapinoe returns to the USWNT for the first time since a friendly against China on April 10th, after a foot injury she sustained during that call-up kept her on the sidelines until July. Rapinoe currently has 84 caps with the USWNT, as well as 2 goals and 3 assists in 2014.

Leroux has played in 10 games for the UWSNT so far in 2014, scoring 7 goals, one of which being the difference in the United States 1-0 win against France on June 14th. Leroux has the opportunity to earn her 54th cap.

All three players are scheduled to depart for Cary following Seattle's regular-season finale against the Portland Thorns on Sunday, August 17, at Providence Park in Portland, OR.

Solo, Rapinoe, and Leroux will return to the Pacific Northwest ahead of Reign FC's semi-final playoff match on August 24, at 8 p.m (PT). The opponent is still to be determined.
