ALLEN, Texas - The Ontario Reign (11-7), four-time ECHL Pacific Division Champions and proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, saw their Western Conference Finals series evened at 3-3 in Game 6 following a 2-1 loss to the Allen Americans (11-6) in front of a crowd of 3,053 on Tuesday night at the Allen Event Center to force a winner-take-all Game 7 on Wednesday at 5:05 p.m. (PDT).
Both teams played through a scoreless first period, with Joe Cannata and Riley Gill trading several saves.
The Americans struck on the power play in the middle frame when Greger Hanson's centering feed deflected off of Matt Register's skate and past Cannata at 7:07.
Ontario evened the score minutes later when Jeff May's point shot was tipped by Tristan King past Gill at 9:56.
Allen pulled ahead again with the eventual game-winner in the third period when Chad Costello gained the offensive zone and snapped the puck past the blocker of Cannata at 2:01.
Cannata took the loss with 19 saves; Gill earned the win with 29 stops.
