San Angelo Colts News Release


Edinburg, Texas--- San Angelo would drop their fifth straight game as the Roadrunners sweep a four game series in Edinburg in the first series of the year between the two. The Colts would get on the board scoring one in the first when Ronnie Gaines began the game with a leadoff double and would come home two batters later on a Jason Landreth ground out to make it 1-0 San Angelo. The Roadrunners would even it up right away in the bottom of the first on a Wilson Batista RBI double to tie it at 1-1.

The Colts would allow four more though in the bottom of the second after a one out error by Colts first baseman Josh Collazo, a single and a walk followed by four straight batters who drove in a run. Singles by Wilmer Pino, Wilson Batista, Ambiorix Conception, with a sac fly by Felix Molina between did the damage, as Edinburg batted around sending nine men to the plate, made the score 5-1 Roadrunners. The score would remain that way until Edinburg added a run in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI single by Alexis Hernandez to make it 6-1 and that would be the final. Edinburg starter Mike Reeves (1-1) picks up the win going five innings, allowing seven hits, one run, two walks, while striking out three.

The Colts come home starting Thursday to not only take on the Amarillo Dillas for a four game set, but to unveil their brand new 1st Community Federal Credit Union Video Scoreboard. Game one will feature the return of Colts right-hander Chandler Bernard against fellow righty Ralph Roberts. It all begins with the Kemps pre-game show beginning at 6:50 and the first pitch at 7:05 on 1260 KKSA.
