Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush announced Thursday that Alex Reed has been named Public & Community Relations Manager and Broadcaster.

"Alex has an excellent background for this role," said Brush. "He is an outstanding broadcaster and could not have come more highly recommended. We look forward to having Alex join our team."

Reed, 33, joins the Everblades organization after spending last season as the Director of Broadcasting and Public/Media Relations Manager with the Wheeling Nailers. Prior to Wheeling, he served three seasons as the broadcaster for the Lewiston MAINEiacs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

"I am thrilled and grateful for the chance to join a first-class organization such as the Florida Everblades," said Reed. "I have been given a tremendous opportunity to advance my broadcasting career and become an active member of the front office. I am excited to become a part of this great community, which has such an enthusiastic fan base."

A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Reed graduated with a master's degree in journalism from Marshall University in 2007. While at Marshall, he had the opportunity to broadcast Thundering Herd football, basketball, baseball and softball games at WMUL-FM. Reed was twice named Sportscaster of the Year by the West Virginia Associated Press Broadcaster's Association in 2006 and 2007.

Reed takes over for Kevin Reiter, who announced in July he was leaving the team after his seven-year tenure to pursue other career opportunities.
