TONIGHT: The RedHawks conclude a 4-game set with the Las Vegas 51s and hit the mid point of an 8-game homestand. The 51s took yesterday's game 8-1. OKC leads the only series of the year between these teams 2-1. The RedHawks maintain a 4-game advantage over Albuquerque and 5-game lead over New Orleans in the American South. Doug Mathis gets the start for the RedHawks against Robert Ray.

DIVISION UPDATE: The RedHawks own the largest leading margin in the PCL entering play tonight at 4 games over Albuquerque in the American South Division. OKC's magic number to clinch the division is 20.

MOVEMENTS: Outfielder Willy Taveras and reliever Jesus Colome have been added to OKC's roster. Catcher Matt Treanor begins a rehab assignment tonight (strained posterior cruciate ligament, right knee). On Saturday, closer Pedro Strop was recalled by Texas and outfielder James Tomlin was promoted from Class AA Frisco, making his Triple-A debut yesterday field. Brandon Boggs was recalled by Texas yesterday, his first promotion of the year, to fill the roster spot vacated by starter Rich Harden, who was placed on Texas' DL with right shoulder tendinitis.

PHILLIPS STREAKING: Lefty reliever Zach Phillips has pitched 9.2 consecutive scoreless innings over all or part of his last 8 outings. The last runs allowed by Phillips came in the first of his 2 innings against Iowa July 17 on a 3-run homer by Brad Snyder.

TIDBITS: Yesterday's 8-1 loss matched the second-largest margin of defeat for the RedHawks this season...their most lopsided defeat was 15-7 setback against Iowa on July 31...they also dropped a game by 7 runs on July 20 vs. Iowa...RedHawks pitching struck out 14 batters yesterday, matching a season high...OKC has gone 23 games without homering after the fifth inning...the last late-game OKC homer was by Jarrod Saltalamacchia in the ninth inning of an 8-4 win at Iowa July 22...The RedHawks are eighth in the league in homers with 109, but have just 1 home run in the last 6 games.

DAVIS AMONG LEADERS: Chris Davis is third in the PCL in hitting (.343), behind the recently promoted Jay Gibbons of Albuquerque and leader John Lindsey (.371) of Albuquerque. Davis is ninth on-base percentage (.401).

PITCHING LEADERBOARD: The RedHawks maintain the PCL's best ERA at 3.86. Omaha is second at 4.08. The RedHawks have allowed the fewest home runs (79) in either affiliated Triple-A league. The only team to have more than a 2-homer game against the RedHawks is Iowa, which collected a pair of 3-homer games and one 4-homer contest in the concluded season series.

TIME CHANGES: The RedHawks' game on Saturday, Sept. 4 has been switched to an 11:05 am start time. The regular season finale on Sept. 6 has been changed to a 1:05 pm start.
